The Soul In Medicine (with Dr. Bonnie McLean) Dr. Sarasua will speak - along with Dr. Bonnie McLean - ina 2-hour presentation about the "Search for the Soul in Medicine." One aspect is how it relates to the ancient healing traditions of the East and the world’s indigenous peoples. These healing traditions are based on healing the physical body vibrationally, through working with the energy body. With the advent of Quantum Theory, modern physics finally caught up with the ancient knowledge held by these traditions through its realization that matter and energy are interchangeable. Dr. Sarasua will include demonstrations of some easy to perform exercises from yoga and Qi Gong to work with your own energy body for healing. Martha Sarasua graduated with a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of West Florida in 1975. She then received a doctorate in Physical Chemistry and her M.D. from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC. Dr. Sarasua then trained in Psychiatry and Neurology at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC and completed her residency training in Psychiatry at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. She directed a large biophysical research facility there until moving back to her hometown of Gulf Breeze, Florida in 1992. She has a small, part-time practice in Neuropsychiatry and Natural Medicine in Pensacola. She also serves on the faculty of the College of Medicine at University of South Alabama and the Departments of Chemistry and Psychology at the University of West Florida where she teaches classes in psychiatry, eastern medicine, general chemistry, neuroanatomy and neurophysiology.. She also teaches classes in yoga, Qi Gong and indigenous healing traditions in the Pensacola area. Dr. Sarasua has studied and practiced the ancient medicine traditions of India, Tibet, and China for over 25 years. In addition, she has traveled to Mexico, New Zealand, and the American Indian reservations in the U.S. for over 15 years to study the traditional healing ways of the indigenous peoples there. She remains active in theoretical research on quantum mechanisms of brain function and theories of consciousness. Contact Dr. Sarasua at marthasarasua@cox.net |
